Bloom, baby bloom!
” To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.” This quote by Audrey Hepburn is just simply beautiful. Spring is here and I have one question for you…are you ready to plant some new seeds and grow?? Welcome to my blog, The Growing Tree!
I have always cherished living in a state that has seasons and Upstate NY is my home and one of the most beautiful places on earth in my humble opinion. We have 4 distinct seasons whisking with change and each one has its own magical place here on earth. The universe and nature show us that change is what helps us grow and thrive if we give it the opportunity to….we have to lean into it! We have to be willing to weed out our gardens, plant new seeds, and lean into nurturing our gardens to make them grow. Metaphorically speaking, ourselves… we need to nurture ourselves in order for us (our gardens) to grow. If not they will wilt and go in a direction that isn’t helping to thrive.
It hasn’t always been easy for me to tend to my “garden,” metaphorically speaking and in the actual garden I have always wanted to have on our deck. It’s such a breathtaking view out our back with the lush of green and the quiet whispers as the trees surrounding us blow in the wind. And this girl…never a green thumb but has always wanted to see her garden grow. But you know what?…In all honesty, I neglected my garden last year, I just gave in and gave up. It saddened me but I lost the motivation to tend to it, to nurture it even admits the weather challenges…I just straight up let it go :(. Over time, I sadly saw it wilt, shrivel, and turn brown, things just died in front of me and it was down right disappointing. Something I was so excited about doing lost its luster in me and I didn’t fight to do something to change it.
So when I felt the slight shift into spring I told myself I wasn’t going to make that mistake again. I was going to make my garden grow, thrive to what I wanted it to look like and feel like for me! No matter what Mother Nature threw my way, I was going to navigate it more mindfully, efficiently. I was going to switch it up, try some new things, techniques and not let the challenges deter me like they did before. And that’s the way I feel about my life, my new chapter at now 50 years old. I turned 50 at the end of last year and my goal was a new garden, a new me!! I wanted to tend and nurture my soul more, listening to her. The creativity that I wanted to lean more into with my hobbies and yes, writing a book excited me in a new way instead of the doubt I had been feeling. I wanted my chapter at 50 to be a rebirth into all the things I wanted to see myself grow into!!
And that is what I want for you too!!! So will you join me in seeing how we can bloom?
Let’s do this! Let’s make a beautiful garden inside and out :
